Pirkanmaa (Swedish: Birkaland, also known as Tampere Region in government documents[1]), is a region of Finland. It borders the regions of Satakunta, Tavastia Proper (Kanta-Häme), Päijät-Häme, South Ostrobothnia, Central Finland and Southwest Finland (Varsinais-Suomi).
