天才[1][2]（英语：Genius）是指某人展現了卓越的智力、創意。而此創意則通常指在某一或某些領域展現前所未有的洞察力。有天才在風格和獨創性規則創造性的高效率，普遍性。


在科學上，對天才兩個字並沒有準確的定義。而天才這個用語模棱两可，也依舊是爭論性的議題。天才可以形容一個人的某種特殊才能；也可以用在通曉各方面學問的博學家(通才)（例如萊布尼茲、艾薩克·牛頓、李奧納多·達文西、高斯、龐加萊）；或是某個領域的佼佼者（例如阿爾伯特·愛因斯坦、寇比力克或是史蒂芬·霍金
）。對於是什麼原因造就了天才，目前科學界仍在研究中，但是在心理學界則已經提出了相關見解。
