Joseph Francis Fitzgerald (6 February 1912 – 1 November 1985) was an Australian politician. Born in Sydney, he attended Catholic schools before becoming a public servant with the Department of Social Services. In 1949, he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for Phillip. He held the seat until his defeat in 1955. In 1961, he was elected to the Senate, where he remained until 1974. Fitzgerald died in 1985.[1]
