Jeff Greenstein is an American television writer, producer and director. His writing and producing credits include Desperate Housewives, Parenthood, Will & Grace, Partners, Friends and Dream On. He has directed episodes of Desperate Housewives, Seasons 1-3 of the acclaimed web series Husbands, the series finale of BBC3 comedy Way to Go, and multiple episodes of CBS sitcoms Mom, The Odd Couple, 9JKL, Happy Together and The Neighborhood.[1]


Greenstein was born in Atlanta, Georgia, attended The Lovett School and Riverwood High School, and graduated from Tufts University in 1984 with a self-designed major in film and dance; his thesis was entitled Footage: Choreographic Approaches to Filmmaking in Theory and Practice.[2] He is a member of the Writers Guild of America and Directors Guild of America.



Awards and nominations


Greenstein has been nominated for numerous Emmy awards, Producers Guild awards, Writers Guild awards and CableACE awards. He won the 2000 Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series as a co-executive producer of Will & Grace.


Greenstein's 2001 Emmy nomination for the Will & Grace one-hour flashback episode "Lows in the Mid-Eighties" is the only writing nomination the show has received to date.[3]


In 2009 Greenstein received the P.T. Barnum Award from Tufts University for his exceptional work in the field of media and entertainment.[4]
